Introduction:
The following skills will be covered during the day:

  • Boat handling skills
  • Paddle technique
  • Weights and body conditioning
  • Self-help methods
  • Kinesetics of paddling
  • Concentrating on good body posture in the boat, paddle motion in the air and through the water
  • Emphasising the "catch" at point of entry
  • Paddle set up to the right angle and length
  • Boat set-up
  • Techniques in boat handling
  • Riding the wake of other boats
  • Taking the best line on graded rivers
  • Body position in the boat
  • Putting in practice all of the theory from session one including
    • Paddling warm-up drills
    • Individual assessments of each padller's technique by coaching on and off the water

Note:
We recommend that this course is repeated within two months to get the most benefit from the training.
